Simon Whitfield

Simon joined chambers in 2009, having previously been a solicitor since 1992 and a partner at an international law firm.

All aspects of complex contractual disputes, interpretation of contractual

provisions and enforcement of judgments.

 

Construction, Engineering & Projects; 

Experienced in all aspects of the construction process.

Acts for contractors,employers, funders, developers and

professionals. He has advised on the procurement of

projects through PFI and PPP in the UK and DBFO

projects internationally.He regularly appears in

adjudications and accepts appointments as adjudicator. 

Appears in the TCC and arbitrations.

 

Mediation;

Dealing with all aspects of ADR, acting for parties in

mediation. He also accepts appointments as mediator.

 

Professional Negligence;  

In particular in relation to construction professionals

including architects, engineers and quantity surveyors as

well as professional negligence generally.

 

Insolvency;  

Administrations and liquidations of companies and

personal insolvency.

 

Property and Housing;  

Landlord and tenant disputes, possession actions on

behalf of lenders and landlords (private and social),

injunctive relief including ASBO injunctions, boundary

disputes and the construction of trusts.

 

Banking and finance;  

All aspects of secured lending as well as factoring

agreements.
