Kevin Slack

Kevin is on the Attorney-General’s Panel of Prosecution Advocates (B List) and has extensive experience prosecuting on behalf of local authorities.

 

Kevin typically represents local authorities in Crown Court matters, though is equally happy to prosecute trials in the magistrates’ court. Areas of experience include:

 

Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit fraud prosecutions

 

Enforcement of local byelaws covering diverse areas from taxis and street trading to roller-blading!

 

Prosecutions concerning the trade in counterfeit goods

 

Health and Safety

 

Kevin also has an interest in licensing matters with particular experience in cases involving the regulation of taxis. Kevin has undertaken cases involving:

 

the challenge to decisions to revoke or refuse to grant or renew hackney carriage and private hire vehicle drivers’ licences

 

the circumstances in which a hackney carriage vehicle licence can be withheld

 

the issue of unmet demand for hackney carriages
