Personal

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from Royal Roads University in Victoria B.C. Within a year of graduating I decided to trade in the bitter winters of the North for a more tropical climate and migrated south to the Cayman Islands where I attended the Cayman Islands Law School.

In Cayman I spent time scuba diving, boating, fishing and being lazy on the beach but also nurturing my interest in the law and in my second year I was awarded the Butterworths Lexis/Nexis Award for highest overall grades.

I took the opportunity to complete the third year of my degree at the University of Liverpool (with which the Cayman Islands Law School is affiliated) and upon graduating with an LLB (Hons) First Class, I was awarded the George Stern Award for the highest grades obtained in final examinations.

After a year’s hiatus from Liverpool, spent completing the Bar Vocational Course in London and subsequently being called to the Bar in 2008, I returned to my adopted home to undertake pupillage at Exchange Chambers, subsequently becoming a member in 2009.

My international life experience has served me well in choosing to settle in a foreign land. With an ingrained resistance to the cold, investment in a HD Sky + box on which to watch my beloved ice hockey, and a well stocked Caribbean section in Tesco’s have all helped me settle into Liverpool life well.
