Practice

Giles continues to be noted as one of the leading Counsel in his field and is well regarded for his ‘technical knowledge and commercial know-how’.

He is Junior Counsel to the Crown (Regional Panel) and is experienced in dealing with substantial commercial litigation, particularly in an insolvency context. Over the last 16 years he has appeared at all levels up to and including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of the Seychelles. In recent years he has successfully completed a number of high profile corporate fraud cases.

His practice has a particular emphasis on company and insolvency work (both contentious and non contentious) including:

*disqualification for DBERR and occasionally for the director public interest petitions and provisional liquidations for the PIU;
*preference, misfeasance and other work for liquidators and other office holders including company administrations, corporate and individual voluntary arrangements and receivership problems;
*shareholder disputes; and
*individual bankruptcy work
