Emma’s recent experience includes:

 

R v Walker & ors – VHCC – Led Junior in a conspiracy to defraud; representing a professional surveyor.  Trial listed for 4 months, Sept 2012.

 

R v Clarke – Junior alone acting for defendant charged with raping his daughter from the age of 9-14. Legal argument on admissibility of DNA evidence and the impact upon the court granting leave to cross-examine the complainant extensively about her past sexual experiences. Jan 2012.

 

R v Crow – Junior alone representing defendant charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.  Successful application to dismiss after Crown failed to serve evidence to substantiate their case. Jan 2012.

 

R v Gordon – Led Junior in a rape of daughter by mother and step-father. Acting for the mother convicted of coercing her disabled daughter into committing sexual acts with her step-father. Numerous breaches of PACE led to the first trial collapsing before a re-trial in February 2012. 

 

R v Leesing – Junior alone in section 18, plea to section 20 acceptable. March 2012.

 

R v Longhorne – Junior alone acting for defendant in large scale conspiracy to burgle from church premises across North Yorkshire. April 2012.

 

R v Ogden & ors – Junior alone prosecuting drugs conspiracy. April 2012.
