We have a strong Defence team with a long established reputation of providing excellence in the expanding field of civil actions against the police, including false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in public office, assault, interference with goods and property, discrimination and Human Rights claims; advising and representing the Chief Constables of Merseyside, Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man. We have appeared in numerous leading reported cases (for example Weir v Chief Constable of Merseyside: Donachie v Chief Constable of Merseyside). A number of team members advise Chief Constables at disciplinary hearings. There is a strong expertise in personal injury actions involving serving Officers.
