The team enjoy an enviable reputation dealing with all aspects of judicial review litigation. Members are known for their success rate in defeating claims on paper. Recent judicial review test cases have concerned the demoted tenancy regime and its compatibility with the ECHR [R (on the Application of Gilboy) v Liverpool City Council & Secretary of State for Local Communities [2007] EWHC 2335 (Admin) [2008] EWCA Civ 751] and the interface between rights of appeal for ASBO’s and human rights legislation [R (on the Application of Langley) v Preston Crown Court & West Lancashire DC & Secretary of State for Local Communities [2008] EWHC 2623 (Admin)].
