Settlement for £1.2 million
1. The Claimant was born in 1961 and so was 33 at the date of the accident in
1995. He was the pillion passenger on a motorbike which crashed; he sustained
significant brain damage, and subluxation of C6 on C7, leading to weakness in
all four limbs. He is almost totally dependent on an electric wheelchair, cannot
drive, and needs assistance in most activities of daily living. His life expectancy
is reduced to about his late sixties.
2. His claim was settled shortly before trial for £1.2 million. No specific figures
were agreed by the Defendants, and so the following estimates are only guidance.
