Mr M R was born in December 1969 and so was 20 at the date of the accident on
the 22nd April 1990. He was 31 at the date of settlement.
1. Judgment was entered in 1992.
2. The Claimant sustained a fracture at T11/12 with displacement, causing paraparesis. His condition deteriorated over the years; pain was constant in varying degrees, and the complications of double incontinence proved to be very distressing and dominating. There was, as a result of the injuries and their physical effect on the Claimant, serious social phobia which led to restriction of activities. Life expectancy was reduced by about 10 years.
3. The Defendants paid into court just under £1.1 million 25 days before the
trial was due to be heard (just over the three week time limit allowed for acceptance).
