Julian King and Steven Crossley secure dismissal of allegations against two GMP officers

January 18, 2018

Julian King and Steven Crossley have successfully secured the dismissal of allegations of Gross Incompetence against two GMP officers. One officer a Sergeant, and the other a Constable both faced allegations of gross incompetence brought after an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

This represented the first gross incompetence case brought in Greater Manchester Police in the last ten years.

The meeting was conducted over three days, during which it was argued on behalf of the officers that there should be no finding of gross incompetence or unsatisfactory performance. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Panel concluded that no such findings should be made.

Julian was instructed by Chris Fallows of Slater & Gordon Solicitors and Steven by Dan Weed of Burton Copeland Solicitors.
